Just a few minutes from the buffer zone of the Tingo Maria National Park, lives the community of Bella Alta. For over a year, Envol Vert and the community’s inhabitants have been discussing and planning to work together to consolidate forest conservation in the region of Tingo Maria. This initiative aims to generate sustainable economic alternatives for the community and, above all, to preserve the buffer zone of the Tingo Maria National Park by enhancing its biodiversity.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group of participants from Bella Alta is part of the coffee and cocoa producers\u2019 association \u00ab Valle del Encanto \u00bb. This organization works collectively, therefore the project will be developed within a group that already collaborates on a daily basis. <\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout 2024, the participants identified the elements present in their territory: the surrounding fauna and flora, as well as the appropriate places for eco-responsible hiking within their plots.<\/span><\/p>\n

In January 2025, the group agreement for the Con Bosque project was signed and, with great enthusiasm, activities were carried out to present the territory through the creation of cartographies.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

This new group, made up mainly of women, has shown great interest in developing ecotourism projects. Thanks to their strong community organization, their commitment to their land and their willingness to learn and pass on their knowledge, the prospects of a collaboration are very promising. <\/span><\/p>\n

Over the coming months, the community will be working on forest preservation, focusing on ecotourism as an economic alternative to deforestation.
